Lemon tree, very pretty

Hi friends!  Hope everyone is enjoying their President's Day.  As I write this I am looking out our window onto a playground full of little girls...it's pretty sweet.

How far along: 14 weeks (and 2 days), size of a lemon!  Makes me think of the Peter Paul and Mary song

Total weight gain: 2-3 lbs

Maternity clothes:  jeans for sure (just sick of the rubberband/bella band for the moment), but I still have other regular things I wear

Stretch marks:  nope

Sleep:  ok, minus crazy dreams.  I'm thinking it's less hormones and more demons.

Best moment of this week:  Announcing the news to my far away friends with a funny email.  Went whale watching with the hubby, that was pretty cool.  Also, NO MORE FIRST TRI!

Miss anything:  running, having energy

Movement:  all the books and people say you can't feel anything at this point but I wonder sometimes...

Food cravings:  oranges every day

Anything making you queasy or sick:  sometimes the smell of meat, or being tired

Have you started to show yet:  I have a little bump, but it's not obvious unless I wear a tight shirt and even then not really

Gender:  I was feeling boy but now I don't know anymore....?

Belly button in or out:  In, but it is sticking out more and was kinda uncomfortable the other day, a bizarre feeling!

Wedding rings on or off:  on

Happy or moody most of the time:   definitely had some moody days, especially if I don't sleep well

Looking forward to: getting back even more energy and figuring out a workout routine.

Time to go finish making dinner...making pizza tonight!   :)

vendredi

There's our little bebe!

Sorry to take so long for a recap of Tuesday's appointment.  I guess it's a good thing I woke up so early this morning, now I have time to write!  Thank you so much for all your good wishes for this appointment.  I was super nervous, but everything went well!

Our little one was being stubborn and it took about an hour to get the NT measurements.  The tech tried 3 times, had me lay on my side, drink more water, rock my hips, and punctuated all of this by thumping on my stomach a lot.  But in the end she got the measurements and they were within normal range.  It was kinda nice that it took a while, because we got to have more "screen time" with our baby.  :)  The little hands and legs were waving around, and it was overall pretty amazing.  We listened to the HB for a little bit too.

Then I had blood drawn (only one tube of blood, yay!) and then the doctor's appointment.   She answered my 87 questions and then we heard the baby's heartbeat again.  After listening to the HB of 160, as a joke she said "My guess is girl!  I have a 50/50 chance of being right."  We thought that was really funny, I guess that's a good line.  I don't have to take progesterone anymore, I'm allowed to exercise and am off pelvic rest.  She still doesn't recommend running.  Although I guess I shouldn't be too disappointed because I'm tortoise speed right now anyways.  I was glad the hubby could come and see the u/s and meet the doctor.  Plus I was glad he could be there because I was nervous as all get out.  They said it would be a while with my b/w, but since the u/s went well, I was really reassured and relieved by this appointment.   I feel like this is a huge milestone we have passed!

When I got home my Gap maternity order was waiting for me on the doorstep.  Sweet.  Maternity jeans are pretty amazeballs, and I don't think I'll be going back much if at all.

Thinking of all of you and sending good vibes.

Great appointment!

Everything went well today, and I'm so relieved! Thank you so much for your good vibes and support! I was so nervous. Now I am worn out, and will write more detail later. But I wanted to say "everything is bon. "

And here is a baby foot. :)

How far along:  12 weeks?!

Total weight gain:  Between 0-3 lbs, depending on time of day

Maternity clothes:  Bella band/rubber band is my friend

Miss anything:  working out and sex, still not allowed either

Movement:  supposedly this is impossible now

Food cravings:  green smoothies

Gender:  I'm thinking boy

Labor signs:  haha

Belly button in or out:  In, but it looks different

Wedding rings on or off:  On on on

Happy or moody most of the time:  Happy but exhausted.

ahh

I got some drugs Wednesday and am finally on the mend!  Thank you for the feel better vibes.  I was really at my wits end.  Now I just need to catch up around here... and am counting down the days until our N/T scan on Tuesday.

In the meantime I've made some connections and am finally going to play some chamber music!  An old acquaintance from conservatory hooked me up with some good players who I will meet next week.  We'll be working on the Brahms piano quintet, a dream piece for me.  A couple years ago I played a two-piano version of it, this will be even better.  I am very rusty and nervous and excited, wish me luck!

Here is an excellent recording of the piece (1st mvt, there are 4) from the Takács quartet.  I had coachings with them in my undergrad.  They are such intense individuals and incredibly talented, but remained approachable and never took themselves too seriously.  Love people like that.  I normally like videos where you can watch the players, but this is pretty cool.
